Against Delhi during the 2010–11 Ranji season, Suryakumar Yadav made his first-class debut. He began his career well, leading Mumbai with an excellent 73 and being the only player to hit a fifty in the team’s first innings. Since then, he has consistently contributed to the team and produced respectable results all through each season.
His talent led Mumbai Indians to offer him an IPL contract in 2011. He participated in a few IPL games for them up until 2013. Later, he joined Kolkata Knight Riders, where he contributed significantly and was useful in the lower ranks order.
